Words of Inspiration and Motivation

Caring community is a vital aspects of a child’s development.

May these people and the words the say could be the inspiration and motivation for all of us to hand in hand together to bring a brighter day for the children around us…

Art is Aubrey's great interest to do all the time. She was so enjoy the silk painting in the art class with her friends and her art teacher, Miss Ameera.

“Every child should have a caring adult in their lives. And that’s not always a biological parent or family member. It may be a friend or neighbor. Often times it is a teacher.”
Joe Manchin Governor of West Virginia, U.S.  (Born 1947);

Reading is one of Aubrey's favourite activities to do. Even in the holiday, library was also her favourite place to visit. Aubrey could stay hours and so absorbed in the book she read in such a place like this- The Bibliothek, Bremen-Germany

“As you consider whether to move a child into formal academic training, remember that we want our children to do more than just learn how to read and write; we want them to learn in such a way that they become lifelong readers and writers. If we push our children to start learning these skills too far ahead of their own spontaneous interest and their capacity, we may sacrifice the long-range goal of having them enjoy such pursuits.”

Lilian.G. Katz, PhD (Lecturer, consultant and worldwide leader in Early Childhood Education)

I find joy in my work-singing and dancing together in my Kindermusik class-ABC Music and Me. The Karavaan Kindergarten, Muscat-Sultanate of Oman

“Teacher with the most advanced education were the most effective (sensitive, responsive, constructive) overall”

  1. I often forget that as a teacher, I may be the only caring adult in that child’s life. It encourages me to focus more and strengthen my relationship with each and every child. Thank you for sharing that quote.

    I also appreciate your quote about introducing the children to academic training to early and the consequences. I agree that children should be able to explore on their own before academic training. However, children whose parents have a higher education and income come to school with many academic concepts that children of a lower income status do not. For example, they may already have concepts of print and a higher vocabulary. It is important that places like head start make sure that academic concepts are introduced to catch them up. If this is done in an interactive way while incorporating the child’s interest, it will not be detrimental. This can include frequent story times, a literacy rich environment, and teaching new words and phrases.

  2. Exactly, anyone could care of children’s lives. Most of times, teachers act the role to concern about their behaviors, feelings, interesting, etc. Besides, family members, neighbors, friends all could have impacts on children’s development. The whole is greater than the sum of each part.

    “we want our children to do more than just learn how to read and write; we want them to learn in such a way that they become lifelong readers and writers.” let me think of an ancient Chinese proverb from Laozi Tao Te Ching that “授人与鱼不如授人与渔. Meaning we should teach people how to fish instead of giving them fishes.” As teachers we teach the way they could use in life time rather than let them pass all skills instructed in school as examinors.

    Every child should have theses images in his or her space at home or school. I really like the positive message this sends out. A teacher’s role is second in power in the life of a child to the parent so it remains that they hold golden positive and proper intentions in every interaction!
